Rail Study
Quebec City, Que – Resource Municipalities Coalition’s Mayor Rob Fraser (District of Taylor), Mayor Keith Bertrand (District of Tumbler Ridge) and Executive Director Mike Whalley met with CN Rail Sean Finn, Executive Vice-President Corporate Services and Chief Legal Officer, to discuss working together to advance a rail study in Northern British Columbia.
On June 1, 2019, the Coalition met with Sean Finn of CN Rail to discuss the opportunity to work together to review rail service in Northern British Columbia. The objectives of the study is to assess current inventory and infrastructure, determine what current and emerging opportunities exist for rail and the development of a business model that would benefit all parties, industry, service provider, community and government.
This meeting has since resulted in continued conversation and an opportunity to meet with CN Rail to advance the review.
